New Dresses March 9, 2008

Hehe, 2nd post with the word “new”.

Went to Haji Lane yesterday (in the hot sun), wearing a scarf (that was amazingly not pure cotton so it was pretty warm, especially since I wrapped it 3 times around), a top (that was strangely very warm), denim skirt, black opaque tights (argh i need more opaque ones), and boots.

It was very warm.

Anyway, Haji Lane was stranger than expected, and smaller. But the shop layouts are lovely. If I ever do have a shop, I’d do it like those there instead of those empty looking things you see at Wisma, Vivo etc.

Some of the shops were so quaint and pretty! Some were just cosy, and some very very cosy and homely! I like.

And my domain has been rotting for… 4 months thereabout.

I know what I’m going to do with it. (: At least for one of the subdomains. ((:

Pretty excited, but I’ll need a layout! But meanwhile, while my CSS and WordPress skills still suck (i.e. 0/10), I need to use a premade layout ): Anyone wants to do me a layout for my birthday?

Thanks mob for telling me I should be less emo, but really!! I’m not that emo. I just don’t feel like smiling yet. The call was very touching. ((:

So, back to Haji Lane. It was awesome. The shops there are so cute. And I found this GORGEOUS FABULOUS TOTALLY ME dress…. But was short of cash. Argh!! I needed $60 more only!! Haha. Not telling how much it was, but it was definitely worth it!!

Got another instead, that’ll make me look like a doll wearing an oversized checked dress. BUT I LIKE!! And before that Liben bought a dress for me (another checked, but nicer!!) which I totally adore. It’s comparable to the one I failed to get, and is reasonably cheaper too! But totally adorable. I really, really like it.

Sigh, to shop, we need $$. To have $$ we need to work. To work, we need a job. To get a job, we need people to employ us. To employ us, the shop must have customers willing to spend (like me).

Life is one vicious cycle. ):

Anyhow, I’m really happy with my finds. Hehe. And Liben’s top is nice too! Finally.!! =P

I think this is pretty funny. Not the jokes on it but the entire concept. Haha. I used to wonder why everyone wanted to pay thousands (or hundreds) for a bag that just has the same design as everyone else (carrying LV). Now, they’ve made an improvement!! They’ve got jokes to help passerbys pass their time while they ogle at LV bags.

“My wife is always asking for money.
$200 one day, $150 the next, $125 after that…
‘That’s crazy,’ my friend said. ‘What does she do with it?’
‘I don’t know,’ I said. ‘I never gave her any.’”
and
My wife went to the beauty shop and got a mud pack. For two days she looked beautiful. Then the mud fell off.”

Funny right.

Give me the cherry blossoms anytime please =D

Ah, and I really like oversized totes. I remember seeing one simple one at Topshop and proclaiming my admiration for it!! And LB was saying it’s too big. But then, I always maintain my stand – You don’t need to put many things inside a big bag! I can just put my wallet, handphone, notebook, makeup(?!). The rest can be air. Hehe. The Mulberry Roxanne Tote and Jimmy Choo Ramona are my current bag obsessions. )): They’re so pretty. But Ramona is 2.8kg. Lol, I could get strong carrying the empty bag around. Hehe. Who says girls are weak!

Pretty right!

Cotton cady Lydia dress – $250 at jcrew!

Hehe classic example of how expensive does not equal good. This is Lanvin. These are US$1,250. (btw, those legs come with the shoes. yes that is a pair of boots.)

public-beward-top-with-braces.jpg I like!! But it’s translucent, apparently. But I can’t tell! £50!

striped-bow-back-dress.jpg

I like!! But prerequisite: Skinny arms. £30 (not bad right!!)

Ahh it’s raining. I shall……… pack my room.

Or something.
