It’s so sad how some people manipulate others (at their weakest times apparently) to gain monetary and well, intangible benefits!

I love clicking on Google links, those that are at the top frame of my gmail site. I love scrolling through the ads, and am still delighted whenever they spy on my mails and give me ads that are similar to my email contents!

That day, I clicked on some horoscope one. (I think this one’s completely random I haven’t signed up for horoscope stuff then.) Some pasqualina or something. See, the name itself is enticing!!

So anyway I requested for a report, (free one la!) and waited anxiously. It was supposed to be delivered to my email within 48h and true enough, seconds off from the 48h mark (HAHA kidding. but near la) I received my delightful report telling me how I am going to change my life with her insights!

It started like this :

That started really well. Because I already like 23 -a whole lot- and 17 since it’s a prime, as well as 10, because it’s a multiple of 5! (Okay, I’m serious about this part. Multiples of 5s are my favourites along with prime numbers which of course includes my darling 23)

But those numbers aren’t lucky. Not for me anyway. I should know… (:

Following that was some cowcrap dramatic story which I shan’t post in case I infringe on some copyrights or some other crap.

So anyway, the middle part moves on to how I need URGENT HELP (bolded and colored no-less) and that although I know deep down I can fight these evils and be victorious in the bloodless war, I am facing unnamed obstacles which she believes she can so totally help!

I have a painful past due to some major misunderstanding or loss and my bleeding wound hasn’t healed after all these long painful years.

Aie, and I stopped reading from there. The following paragraphs had more bolded and colored words that looked happier like “happiness” “wonderful opportunities” “great opportunities” “once in a life time opportunity” (which of course referred to her for-fee-scamscheme and not my life)

AIE CAN YOU TELL I’M REALLY BORED???

Anyhow, I won a travel guide book (LONDON!! I say fate.) yes if you heard some nub michelle over the radio that was me ahaha!

That IS how bored I am.

Weird, I’ve been getting goosebumps ALOT lately.

Whenever I think about death, read about death, see things related.

Whenever I watch the news and see all those people still suffering.

Whenever I talk to someone and I feel uncomfortable suddenly.

Whenever I read anything vaguely comforting.

Whenever I feel relieved.

It’s REALLY odd – the sudden rush of feeling to each and every part of me.

unhurried thoughts of society’s vermin May 13, 2008

I took a long 23 minutes walk to the public pool, had a 20 minutes swim, and took the 23 minutes walk home.

Is the journey always longer than the even we step out for?

I’ve honestly been thinking a whole lot these days, and I’m not sure what I have decided upon for several issues. Nonetheless, the sudden spike in amount of “thinking” done has caused my brain to work even at night haha! I’ve been having vivid dreams which I can even remember after waking up. And it’s cool, because I get to “see” people in my dreams. People I haven’t been able to see / talk to in aeons.

What if the world ended tomorrow? Is it any reason not to continue with the mundane things we occupy ourselves with each day?

Would you regret going to work faithfully typing those -ohsouseless- information for your part-time job?

Would you be afraid that nobody knows how much you treasure them?

Would you regret doing that nasty mean thing you just did today?

Would you be happy because you’ll be in a beautiful place then, for eternity?

Would you (in that short millisecond before you know where you’re heading to) worry that you’ll be going to hell instead?

I wonder what atheists believe in… What happens to them after they die?

Do they simply cease to exist, just as suddenly as their “formation” had been?

What happens when one day, the sun stops shining?

Will mankind be prepared for that day? How can they prepare for that day?

I’ve got “The Making of Singapore Sociology” to complete next. Then I’ll work through Bobos in Paradise (uhm I’ve a thing against dirty books…), followed by the Undercover Economist (which I think is overrated haha!! but people are going to rebuke that) and finally I’ll get to start on The Idiot! If I ever complete that I’m going to read Crime and Punishment, Anna Karenina, Don Quixote, Atonement, and various Steinbeck novels.

But of course, that’s assuming, I even get to finish The Idiot. It isn’t that thrilling to have to flip through the dictionary 10+ times per page.

(: Of course, I’m going to finish 10 books by end of August.

And I shall put a cut for a list of 100 greatest novels I found online. =D
